March 21: Mark the last day Vermont Yankee is legally operating in the State of Vermont with the Peace Pagoda walkers from our sister reactors. They arrive around noon at Vermont Yankee. At 4pm, there is a vigil at the Vermont Statehouse in Montpelier, followed by a “Retirement Party“ at 5pm in Room 10 of the Statehouse.
March 22: Entergy: Your Time is Up! Join us for a rally, march and demonstration at Entergy Headquarters, to mark the first day Vermont Yankee is operating against the will of the people. We view the continued operation of Vermont Yankee today as an insult to democracy, the people of Vermont and surrounding regions, and to the Earth. Click here for a list of FAQ
March 24: Freeze Our Fukushimas Solidarity Day with Vermont: Activists in our sister reactor communities around the United States will be staging events to express their solidarity for Vermont’s right to govern their own energy future, and to shut down Vermont Yankee. Locally, Monadnock Affinity Group is holding a rally at Vermont Yankee at 2:00 pm. They will hold signs and banners thanking folks in NY (Indian Point and Fitzpatrick reactors) , NJ (Oyster Creek), MA (Pilgrim), OH (Davis Besse), Texas, Oregon and more for showing their support through action.
